Responsibility
- Provide expert clinical evaluation, diagnosis, and surgical treatment for a diverse patient population.
- Perform advanced laparoscopic, endoscopic, and open surgical procedures with precision and adherence to best practices.
- Develop and implement comprehensive perioperative care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Collaborate closely with referring physicians, specialists, and hospital administration to foster an integrated care environment.
- Participate in the on-call rotation for general surgical emergencies, providing timely and expert consultation.
- Mentor and educate general surgery residents and medical students during their clinical rotations.
- Maintain detailed, accurate patient records and clinical documentation compliant with all regulatory standards.
- Contribute to clinical research, quality improvement projects, and the advancement of surgical protocols within the department.
Qualification
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited General Surgery residency program.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery (American Board of Surgery).
- Active, unrestricted medical license to practice in the State of New York (or ability to obtain before start date).
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience post-residency is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in robotic surgical techniques (Da Vinci experience highly desired).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with a patient-centered focus.
- Eligibility to obtain medical staff privileges at affiliated hospitals in the New York metropolitan area.
