Bright Mart is seeking a dedicated Cashier to join our New York, NY team. In this role, you will be the face of our store, delivering top‑tier customer service while ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
Responsibility
- Operate cash registers, handling cash, credit/debit cards, and mobile payments accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring all supplies are stocked.
- Provide friendly, informative assistance to customers, answering product questions and resolving concerns.
- Reconcile cash drawers at the end of each shift, reporting any discrepancies.
- Collaborate with team members to support store promotions, events, and inventory management.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and loss‑prevention guidelines.
Qualification
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous cash handling or retail experience is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic math proficiency (addition, subtraction, percentages).
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
