Responsibility
- Provide comprehensive prenatal care including initial assessments, routine examinations, and educational counseling for expectant mothers
- Manage labor and delivery, monitoring maternal and fetal wellbeing while offering emotional support and pain management guidance
- Deliver babies independently or in collaboration with physicians for high-risk situations
- Perform postpartum care including newborn assessments, breastfeeding support, and maternal health monitoring
- Document all patient interactions, maintain accurate medical records, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Educate patients on family planning, contraception options, and reproductive health topics
- Participate in community outreach programs and educational workshops about maternal health
Qualification
- Active Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) or Certified Midwife (CM) license in Oregon required
- Master's degree in nurse-midwifery or related field from an accredited program
- Minimum 2 years of midwifery experience in a clinical setting
- Current NRP and BLS certifications
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to manage obstetric emergencies
- Excellent interpersonal communication and patient education abilities
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and on-call rotations
