Responsibility

  • Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care to women with low-risk pregnancies
  • Deliver babies in both hospital and birth center settings, ensuring safety and comfort
  • Conduct annual gynecological exams, family planning consultations, and reproductive health screenings
  • Develop individualized birth plans and provide education on labor, breastfeeding, and newborn care
  • Collaborate with physicians and specialists for high-risk cases requiring consultation or transfer
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and electronic health records (EHR)
  • Participate in community outreach programs and educational workshops
  • Mentor student midwives and junior staff members

Qualification

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon with current CNS or ARNP designation
  • Completion of an accredited nurse-midwifery education program (master's degree preferred)
  • National Certification through the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical midwifery experience in a hospital or birth center setting
  • Proficiency in fetal monitoring, IV placement, and emergency obstetric interventions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate, patient-centered approach
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations
  • BLS and NRP certifications required; fetal monitoring certification preferred
