Responsibility
- Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecological care to patients across diverse cultural backgrounds
- Manage low-risk pregnancies, conduct deliveries, and perform newborn assessments in our birth center setting
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists to ensure seamless care for high-risk cases requiring transfer
- Develop individualized birth plans and educate patients on natural birthing techniques, breastfeeding, and newborn care
- Maintain detailed electronic health records while adhering to HIPAA compliance and midwifery practice standards
- Participate in community outreach programs promoting women's health education and reproductive autonomy
- Mentor midwifery students and contribute to clinical quality improvement initiatives
Qualification
- Active Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in Texas with current CNM certification from ACNM
- Master's degree in Nursing or Midwifery from an accredited institution
- Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in out-of-hospital birth settings
- Current BLS and NRP certifications with commitment to maintain
- Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to build trust with diverse patient populations
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems, preferably Epic or Athenahealth
- Commitment to trauma-informed care and cultural competency practices
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and on-call rotations
