Responsibility

  • Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecological care to patients across diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Manage low-risk pregnancies, conduct deliveries, and perform newborn assessments in our birth center setting
  • Collaborate with physicians and specialists to ensure seamless care for high-risk cases requiring transfer
  • Develop individualized birth plans and educate patients on natural birthing techniques, breastfeeding, and newborn care
  • Maintain detailed electronic health records while adhering to HIPAA compliance and midwifery practice standards
  • Participate in community outreach programs promoting women's health education and reproductive autonomy
  • Mentor midwifery students and contribute to clinical quality improvement initiatives

Qualification

  • Active Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in Texas with current CNM certification from ACNM
  • Master's degree in Nursing or Midwifery from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in out-of-hospital birth settings
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications with commitment to maintain
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to build trust with diverse patient populations
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems, preferably Epic or Athenahealth
  • Commitment to trauma-informed care and cultural competency practices
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and on-call rotations
