Responsibility
- Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care based on midwifery scope of practice.
- Conduct thorough assessments, physical exams, and laboratory tests to monitor maternal and fetal health.
- Educate and counsel patients on pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, family planning, and wellness.
- Attend births in the birth center and manage low-risk labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care.
- Collaborate with consulting physicians and specialists when complications arise.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) for all patient encounters.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice updates.
- Support the mission and values of the birth center, contributing to a positive and inclusive environment.
Qualification
- Master’s degree in Nursing or Midwifery from an accredited program.
- Current certification as a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licenses in Oregon.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical midwifery experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Excellent clinical and critical thinking skills, with proficiency in low-risk birth management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and basic computer skills.
