Responsibility
- Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, dosage, and drug interactions.
- Provide direct patient counseling and medication therapy management (MTM) services.
- Collaborate with physicians and nurses to optimize treatment plans and ensure therapeutic compliance.
- Monitor and manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, stocking, and quality assurance.
- Ensure strict adherence to all state and federal regulations, including DEA and HIPAA compliance.
- Supervise and mentor pharmacy interns and support staff.
- Participate in clinical research and pharmacy quality improvement initiatives.
Qualification
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an ACPE-accredited institution.
- Active, unencumbered pharmacist license issued by the California Board of Pharmacy.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and therapeutic guidelines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for patient and provider education.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and pharmacy management software (e.g., Cerner, Epic).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
