Responsibility
- Operate commercial fishing vessels using modern navigation and safety equipment
- Execute sustainable fishing techniques while adhering to strict quotas and regulations
- Maintain and repair fishing gear, nets, and onboard machinery
- Process and preserve catches at sea to ensure optimal freshness
- Monitor weather conditions and adjust fishing strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with crew to maximize efficiency and safety protocols
- Complete daily catch logs and vessel maintenance reports
Qualification
- Minimum 3 years commercial fishing experience with documented sea time
- Valid USCG Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) with appropriate endorsements
- Proficiency in vessel navigation systems (GPS, radar, sonar)
- Strong understanding of fisheries regulations and sustainable practices
- Physical ability to perform strenuous tasks in challenging marine conditions
- Commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment troubleshooting
- STCW certification or willingness to obtain
