Responsibility
- Operate fishing vessels and deck equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain and repair nets, gear, and onboard machinery
- Process and harvest catches according to quality standards
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and maritime regulations
- Collaborate with crew to optimize fishing operations
- Monitor weather and sea conditions for safe navigation
- Document catches and vessel maintenance logs accurately
Qualification
- Minimum 3 years commercial fishing experience
- Valid US Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC)
- Strong knowledge of Alaska fisheries regulations
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in harsh conditions
- Experience with hydraulic winches, net systems, and deck machinery
- Basic first aid and emergency response certification
- Ability to work 12-16 hour shifts in variable weather conditions
