Responsibility
- Operational Duties: Assist in the deployment, retrieval, and maintenance of fishing nets and gear.
- Catch Handling: Sort, grade, and process fish according to strict quality standards and regulations.
- Vessel Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of deck equipment, machinery, and living quarters.
- Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to all maritime safety regulations, including proper PPE usage and emergency drills.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the captain and crew to ensure efficient workflow during high-pressure situations.
Qualification
- Certification: Valid USCG Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) or relevant commercial fishing license is required.
- Experience: Proven experience in commercial fishing or deckhand work (minimum 2 seasons preferred).
- Physical Fitness: Ability to work in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks for long hours.
- Stamina: High level of endurance and the ability to lift heavy loads (50+ lbs) repeatedly.
- Communication: Strong English communication skills and the ability to follow verbal instructions clearly.
