Responsibility

  • Assist with all deck operations, including setting and hauling fishing gear (longlines, gillnets, or pots).
  • Sort, process, and pack catch according to strict quality control standards.
  • Maintain and repair fishing gear, nets, and vessel equipment.
  • Participate in regular safety drills and maintain a constant watch for hazards.
  • Operate deck machinery such as winches, cranes, and hydraulic power blocks.
  • Ensure the vessel and living quarters are kept clean and organized.
  • Assist the captain and mate with navigation and vessel operation watch duties.

Qualification

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States (Valid US Passport or Green Card required).
  • Physical ability to work long hours in extreme weather conditions (heavy lifting up to 100 lbs, standing for 12+ hours).
  • Valid Commercial Fishing License or willingness to obtain one before departure (we assist with the process).
  • Completion of a U.S. Coast Guard approved Basic Safety Training course (or ability to complete prior to departure).
  • Strong swimming ability and comfort working over open water.
  • No fear of heights (working on tall decks) or confined spaces (hold and engine room access).
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) preferred, or willingness to obtain.
