Responsibility
- Assist with all deck operations, including setting and hauling fishing gear (longlines, gillnets, or pots).
- Sort, process, and pack catch according to strict quality control standards.
- Maintain and repair fishing gear, nets, and vessel equipment.
- Participate in regular safety drills and maintain a constant watch for hazards.
- Operate deck machinery such as winches, cranes, and hydraulic power blocks.
- Ensure the vessel and living quarters are kept clean and organized.
- Assist the captain and mate with navigation and vessel operation watch duties.
Qualification
- Must be eligible to work in the United States (Valid US Passport or Green Card required).
- Physical ability to work long hours in extreme weather conditions (heavy lifting up to 100 lbs, standing for 12+ hours).
- Valid Commercial Fishing License or willingness to obtain one before departure (we assist with the process).
- Completion of a U.S. Coast Guard approved Basic Safety Training course (or ability to complete prior to departure).
- Strong swimming ability and comfort working over open water.
- No fear of heights (working on tall decks) or confined spaces (hold and engine room access).
- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) preferred, or willingness to obtain.
