Nexus Security Solutions is a leading cybersecurity firm dedicated to protecting enterprise clients from evolving digital threats. We are currently seeking a talented Cybersecurity Specialist to join our growing team in New York City.
In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and managing security protocols, conducting vulnerability assessments, and responding to security incidents. You will collaborate closely with our security operations team to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of our clients' critical data and infrastructure.

Responsibility
- Monitor network traffic and system logs to identify and analyze security threats and anomalies
- Implement and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security infrastructure
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses
- Develop and update security policies, procedures, and documentation
- Respond to and investigate security incidents, including malware outbreaks and unauthorized access attempts
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into all systems and applications
- Provide security awareness training and support to non-technical staff members
- Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies in the industry
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity or a similar technical role
- Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH are preferred
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts, TCP/IP protocols, and firewall configuration
- Experience with security tools including SIEM platforms, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint protection
- Understanding of common attack vectors and security frameworks like NIST and ISO 27001
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
