Job Description
Nexus Venture Foundry is a premier venture studio based in the heart of San Francisco's innovation ecosystem. We partner with world-class operators to de-risk and accelerate the creation of category-defining technology companies. Our unique model provides the capital, infrastructure, and elite operational talent needed to move from zero to product-market fit at an unprecedented velocity.
We are seeking a visionary Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) to join our next cohort. This is not a typical job; it is a platform to build your own venture-backed company. You will leverage Nexus's deep capital networks, in-house engineering, design, and growth teams, alongside our proprietary analytics to identify high-impact opportunities.
You will lead the exploration of deeply vetted thesis areas, conduct primary customer discovery, build and test MVPs, and ultimately launch a stand-alone, venture-funded business. If you have an insatiable curiosity, a relentless execution bias, and a track record of building, we want to partner with you to build the next generation of iconic technology companies.
Responsibility
- Lead market analysis and deep-dive research to identify and validate high-potential venture opportunities within Nexus's strategic thesis areas.
- Drive rapid customer discovery cycles, conducting interviews and synthesizing feedback to refine problem statements and value propositions.
- Architect Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) in collaboration with Nexus's internal product and engineering teams to test core assumptions.
- Develop comprehensive financial models, go-to-market strategies, and pitch decks to secure initial seed financing from Nexus and top-tier co-investors.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a lean, high-performance founding team, fostering a culture of intellectual honesty, speed, and resilience.
- Own the full lifecycle of the venture, from ideation through to Series A fundraise and beyond, acting as the founding CEO.
Qualification
- Proven track record of building and launching successful technology products or businesses (Founder, COO, or General Manager background highly preferred).
- Deep domain expertise in one or more of the following: AI/ML, Fintech, Climate Tech, or B2B SaaS.
- Exceptional analytical and pattern-recognition skills; ability to synthesize complex market data into clear, actionable strategies.
- Strong network within the venture capital and startup ecosystem in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and attract top technical and commercial talent.
- High degree of comfort with ambiguity and a bias for action. Must be able to make decisions with incomplete information.
- MBA or advanced degree is preferred but not required; real-world building experience is paramount.
