Green Valley Organic Farms is seeking a dedicated and experienced Farm Manager to oversee daily agricultural operations on our 500-acre organic produce farm in Fresno, California. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on agricultural professional who is passionate about sustainable farming practices and crop production excellence.
As Farm Manager, you will lead our farming operations, manage field crews, and ensure the successful planting, growing, and harvesting of our diverse vegetable and fruit crops. Responsibility
- Oversee all day-to-day farming operations including planting, irrigation, fertilization, and harvesting schedules
- Manage and supervise a team of 15-25 field workers and seasonal staff
- Implement and maintain organic farming certifications and sustainable agriculture practices
- Monitor crop health, identify pest and disease issues, and coordinate with agronomists for solutions
- Manage farm equipment maintenance, scheduling repairs, and ensuring safety compliance
- Develop and manage annual crop plans, production budgets, and input procurement
- Coordinate with sales and distribution teams to ensure timely harvest and delivery
- Maintain detailed farm records including yields, inputs, labor hours, and compliance documentation
Qualification
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial farming or agricultural operations management
- Strong knowledge of California crop production, soil management, and irrigation systems
- Experience with organic farming regulations and USDA organic certification processes
- Proven leadership skills with ability to manage and motivate large field crews
- Mechanical aptitude for farm equipment troubleshooting and maintenance
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
- Physical ability to perform field work in varying weather conditions
