Green Valley Organic Farms is seeking a dedicated and experienced Farm Manager to oversee our 200-acre organic vegetable operation in the heart of California's Central Valley. Responsibility
- Plan and execute seasonal planting, cultivation, and harvest schedules for diverse vegetable crops
- Manage and supervise farm workers, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation
- Monitor soil health, irrigation systems, and implement integrated pest management strategies
- Maintain equipment, machinery, and farm infrastructure to ensure operational efficiency
- Track production costs, yields, and quality metrics to optimize farm profitability
- Coordinate with distribution partners and manage inventory for market delivery
- Ensure compliance with organic certification standards and FDA food safety regulations
- Document all farming activities and maintain detailed records for certification purposes
Qualification
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in commercial farming or agricultural operations management
- Strong knowledge of organic farming practices, soil science, and crop rotation principles
- Experience with modern irrigation systems and precision agriculture technology
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate farm equipment and vehicles
- Physical ability to perform outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead a diverse team
- Associate's degree or higher in Agriculture, Agronomy, or related field preferred
- Knowledge of GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) and organic certification processes
