In this role, you will teach English literature and composition to high school students, fostering a love for reading and writing while developing critical thinking and analytical skills. You will work in a collaborative environment with access to modern teaching resources and professional development opportunities.
Responsibility
- Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum goals.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback.
- Integrate technology and multimedia resources to enhance learning experiences.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and school events.
- Advise and support students in their academic and personal growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve instructional materials and strategies.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid teaching certification for high school English in Illinois.
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience at the high school level.
- Strong knowledge of English literature, grammar, and composition.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and learning management systems.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
