Lexington University is seeking a passionate and accomplished Lecturer – Computer Science to join our dynamic Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences. In this role, you will deliver cutting‑edge instruction, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and contribute to a vibrant academic community in Boston, MA.
You will collaborate with colleagues on innovative curriculum design, engage in scholarly research, and support the university’s mission to foster excellence in education and technology.
Responsibility
- Plan and deliver lectures, labs, and tutorials for undergraduate and graduate computer‑science courses.
- Develop curriculum materials and assessment tools that reflect current industry trends.
- Mentor and advise students on academic progress, research projects, and career pathways.
- Conduct independent or collaborative research and publish findings in reputable journals.
- Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and extracurricular activities related to computer science.
- Support student recruitment, outreach, and community‑building initiatives.
Qualification
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field (ABD candidates may be considered).
- Prior teaching experience at the university level, ideally with positive student evaluations.
- Demonstrated ability to teach a variety of courses, from introductory programming to advanced algorithms.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a student‑centered approach.
- Record of scholarly output (publications, conference presentations) commensurate with rank.
- Proficiency with learning management systems (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas) and modern teaching technologies.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom.
