Responsibility
- Deliver engaging lectures and lead discussion sections for undergraduate and graduate computer science courses.
- Develop, update, and refine course syllabi, assignments, and assessment materials to reflect current industry trends.
- Provide mentorship and academic advising to students during office hours and through departmental programs.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance curriculum design and teaching methodologies.
- Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and accreditation activities as required.
- Conduct regular assessments of student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain professional development in computer science education and pedagogy.
- Contribute to the university's mission of diversity, equity, and inclusion through teaching practices.
Qualification
- Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the university level, evidenced by student evaluations or prior experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse student populations.
- Expertise in one or more core areas: algorithms, data structures, programming languages, software engineering, artificial intelligence, or systems.
- Experience with curriculum development and instructional design.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented academic department.
- Active research agenda or industry experience is a plus but not required.
