Responsibility
- Analyze biological specimens (blood, tissue, fluids) using automated and manual techniques
- Perform quality control procedures and maintain equipment calibration
- Document test results accurately in laboratory information systems
- Collaborate with pathologists and healthcare providers to report critical findings
- Adhere to strict safety protocols including OSHA and CLIA standards
- Participate in proficiency testing and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualification
- Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field
- ASCP or AMT certification required (or eligible within 6 months)
- Minimum 2 years clinical laboratory experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and regulations
- Proficiency in LIS systems and laboratory instrumentation
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Valid Texas Laboratory License (or ability to obtain promptly)
