Job Description
Our pharmacy is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacist to join our team in Chicago, IL. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, providing exceptional patient care, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards.
You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy, counsel patients on drug interactions, and oversee the accurate dispensing of prescriptions.
Responsibility
- Dispense prescriptions accurately and efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Conduct comprehensive medication therapy management (MTM) reviews for chronic disease patients.
- Counsel patients on proper medication usage, side effects, and lifestyle modifications.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop and monitor treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate patient records, inventory, and compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations.
- Supervise and train pharmacy technicians and support staff.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and community health outreach programs.
Qualification
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid Illinois Pharmacist license (or ability to obtain licensure in IL).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a retail or clinical pharmacy setting.
- Proficient knowledge of drug interactions, dosing, pharmacology, and pharmacy law.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient‑counseling skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
- Experience with pharmacy software and Electronic Health Records (EHR) is a plus.
