Responsibility
- Plan and deliver engaging, tailored lessons in mathematics and science to students from elementary through high school.
- Assess students’ strengths and areas for improvement to develop personalized learning plans.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles.
- Track and report student progress to parents and program coordinators regularly.
- Collaborate with other tutors and academic staff to ensure curriculum consistency and quality.
- Maintain a positive, encouraging, and professional learning environment.
- Prepare students for standardized tests, including the SAT, ACT, and state assessments.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development sessions.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of tutoring or teaching experience in K-12 settings.
- Deep expertise in at least one of the following: algebra, geometry, calculus, biology, chemistry, or physics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
- Ability to pass a background check and provide references.
- Reliable transportation to travel to student locations within New York City (if in-person).
- Availability for afternoon, evening, or weekend sessions as needed.
