Responsibility
- Plan, organize, and direct field surveys to establish legal boundaries and topographic features.
- Prepare and review complex survey computations, plats, legal descriptions, and reports.
- Operate and manage advanced survey equipment including GPS/GNSS, total stations, and UAV/drone systems for data acquisition.
- Perform quality control checks on field data and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal standards.
- Collaborate with civil engineers, architects, and construction managers to provide critical geospatial data.
- Mentor and supervise crew chiefs, instrument operators, and field technicians.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and client communications effectively.
Qualification
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Licensure: Current and active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in the State of Texas is required.
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in land surveying, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar CAD software. Experience with GIS software and point cloud processing is a strong plus.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, boundary law, easements, and subdivision regulations.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and a strict attention to detail.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and navigate rough terrain as needed.
