Responsibility
- Conduct regular foot patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas to detect and deter security threats, safety hazards, or unauthorized activity.
- Monitor CCTV systems, access control points, and alarm systems with unwavering attention to detail.
- Enforce client-specific security protocols and building rules while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Prepare detailed and accurate daily activity reports, incident logs, and shift handover documentation.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, alarms, and medical incidents, providing first-line assistance and directing emergency personnel as necessary.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting tenants, visitors, and employees with inquiries and directions.
- Inspect security equipment and report malfunctions to the shift supervisor.
Qualification
- Valid NYS Security Guard License (8-hour pre-assignment and 16-hour on-the-job training certificates required).
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency required; some college education or current enrollment in criminal justice preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in security, military, law enforcement, or a related customer service field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods (up to 8-12 hours) in various weather conditions.
- Current CPR/AED and Basic First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days).
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background screening and drug test.
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation abilities with a calm demeanor under pressure.
