Responsibility
- Develop and deliver cutting-edge graduate and undergraduate courses in data science, machine learning, and AI
- Lead a dynamic research program with potential for NSF/NIH funding and industry collaborations
- Mentor PhD students and postdoctoral researchers to produce high-impact publications
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental governance initiatives
- Engage in interdisciplinary research with Stanford's Schools of Engineering and Medicine
- Secure external funding through grants and strategic partnerships
- Represent the university at national/international academic conferences and symposiums
Qualification
- PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, or related field with exceptional research record
- 5+ years of teaching experience at university level with demonstrated pedagogical excellence
- Published work in top-tier venues (NeurIPS, ICML, JMLR, Science, Nature)
- Proven ability to secure competitive research funding ($1M+ preferred)
- Strong background in at least one specialization: deep learning, NLP, computer vision, or ML theory
- Experience developing scalable data pipelines and high-performance computing solutions
- Commitment to diversity and inclusion in STEM education
- Strong communication skills for effective knowledge transfer to industry and academia
