Responsibility
- Monitor and assess patient vital signs, symptoms, and medical conditions to detect changes in health status.
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians, adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and update individualized patient care plans.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatments, and preventive care strategies.
- Document all patient care activities accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR).
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and critical incidents within the unit.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental meetings.
Qualification
- Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of New York.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with relevant experience.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Critical Care, Med-Surg, or Telemetry preferred.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
