Job Description

Cornerstone Academy of Texas is seeking a visionary and accomplished School Principal to lead our vibrant K-8 campus in the heart of Austin. As our Principal, you will be responsible for the overall strategic direction, operational excellence, and educational quality of our campus serving over 850 students. You will collaborate closely with a dedicated team of educators, parents, and community stakeholders to create an environment where every student thrives academically, socially, and emotionally. This role reports directly to the Board of Directors and offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience.

Responsibility

  • Provide visionary leadership in developing and implementing strategic plans that advance the school's educational mission and core values
  • Oversee all daily operations, including academics, student services, facilities management, and staff supervision
  • Drive academic excellence by monitoring curriculum implementation, instructional practices, and student assessment outcomes
  • Foster meaningful relationships with parents, community partners, and local organizations to enhance educational programs
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate a team of 65+ faculty and staff members to ensure professional growth and retention
  • Manage the annual budget of approximately $6.5 million and allocate resources strategically to support institutional priorities
  • Ensure compliance with all Texas Education Agency regulations, accreditation standards, and state/federal requirements
  • Represent the school at community events, board meetings, and professional conferences while maintaining a visible presence on campus

Qualification

  • Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a closely related field from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in K-12 education, with at least 3 years in an administrative or principal role
  • Valid Texas Principal Certificate (PK-12) or eligibility to obtain certification within 6 months
  • Demonstrated track record of improving student achievement and closing achievement gaps across diverse learner populations
  • Expertise in curriculum development, data-driven instruction, and implementing research-based educational practices
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills with a collaborative leadership style
  • Proven experience in budget management, personnel administration, and facility operations within an educational setting
  • Deep commitment to educational equity, inclusive practices, and creating a nurturing environment for all students
