Responsibility
- Operational Leadership: Oversee all daily farm operations, including planning, planting, irrigation scheduling, and harvest management to ensure optimal crop cycles.
- Team Management: Lead, train, and mentor a diverse workforce of agricultural laborers, fostering a culture of safety, productivity, and continuous improvement.
- Sustainability: Implement and refine sustainable farming practices, such as water conservation techniques and organic soil amendments, to maximize yield while minimizing environmental impact.
- Maintenance: Manage the maintenance and repair of farm machinery, equipment, and facilities to ensure operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Strategic Planning: Analyze crop performance data and market trends to make data-driven decisions regarding crop selection and resource allocation.
- Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to local, state, and federal agricultural regulations, safety standards, and environmental laws.
Qualification
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in commercial farming or agricultural management.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of crop rotation, irrigation systems (drip/sprinkler), soil health, and pest management.
- Driver’s License: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B) is preferred.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physical labor including lifting and operating heavy machinery.
- Leadership: Proven track record of leading teams and managing budgets for agricultural operations.
