Responsibility
- Lead design and execution of complex civil engineering projects including structural analysis, grading, drainage, and utility coordination
- Prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Revit
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources while ensuring compliance with local building codes (Illinois Building Code) and environmental regulations
- Conduct site investigations, geotechnical assessments, and construction monitoring for large-scale developments
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with architects, contractors, and municipal agencies
- Implement sustainable design practices including LEED certification standards and stormwater management systems
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of progressive experience in civil design with focus on structural or transportation engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and structural analysis software (STAAD.Pro or SAP2000)
- Proven track record managing projects over $5M with successful delivery
- Experience with BIM/CIM processes and infrastructure modeling
- Strong knowledge of Chicago municipal permitting processes and ADA compliance
