Responsibility
- Oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy department, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations.
- Conduct comprehensive medication therapy management (MTM) for patients with complex disease states.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize drug therapy and prevent adverse drug events.
- Counsel patients and caregivers on medication usage, potential side effects, and adherence strategies.
- Review and verify all prescriptions and medication orders for accuracy, safety, and appropriateness.
- Manage medication inventory, including ordering, receiving, and controlling stock levels.
- Participate in clinical research projects and continuous quality improvement initiatives within the hospital.
Qualification
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an ACPE-accredited institution.
- Current, active New York State Pharmacist License.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical pharmacy experience in a hospital or acute care setting.
- Board certification (e.g., BCPP, BCPS) is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, pharmacotherapeutics, and pharmacy law.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient education.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
