Responsibility
- Oversee the full editorial lifecycle from concept to publication, ensuring strict adherence to AP style and brand guidelines.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of writers and associate editors, fostering a culture of creativity and accountability.
- Develop and execute a forward-thinking content strategy that drives audience growth and engagement across digital platforms.
- Perform rigorous copy editing, fact-checking, and proofreading to guarantee accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
- Collaborate with the SEO and social media teams to optimize headlines, metadata, and content distribution.
- Manage the editorial calendar, prioritizing assignments and resources to meet tight deadlines without sacrificing quality.
- Analyze content performance metrics to refine strategies and inform future editorial decisions.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, integrating best practices in journalism, digital publishing, and content marketing.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in editorial roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management capacity.
- Impeccable command of the English language and mastery of AP style.
- Proven track record of developing successful content strategies that increased readership and engagement.
- Proficiency with content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal) and project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello).
- Strong portfolio of edited work showcasing a diverse range of topics and formats.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to give constructive feedback.
- Experience in SEO best practices, data analytics (Google Analytics, Parse.ly), and audience development.
