Responsibility
- Perform complex surgical procedures including oncologic resections, laparoscopic interventions, and trauma management
- Lead multidisciplinary care teams through pre-operative planning and post-operative recovery protocols
- Develop innovative surgical techniques and contribute to clinical research publications
- Mentor junior surgeons and medical students through structured teaching programs
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and hospital committee activities
- Maintain rigorous compliance with JCAHO and NY State Health Department standards
- Collaborate with robotics team to advance minimally invasive surgical capabilities
Qualification
- MD/DO degree from an accredited institution with completed General Surgery residency
- Board certification in General Surgery with valid NY State medical license
- Fellowship training in surgical oncology or minimally invasive surgery preferred
- Minimum 7 years of progressive surgical experience in academic medical centers
- Proven expertise in robotic-assisted surgical platforms (da Vinci certification)
- Demonstrated commitment to surgical education and scholarly activity
- Exceptional clinical judgment and ability to manage high-acuity cases
