Responsibility
- Perform a wide range of general surgical procedures, including laparoscopic and open surgeries, with a focus on patient safety and optimal outcomes.
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic assessments to formulate surgical treatment plans.
- Provide pre-operative counseling to patients and families, ensuring they understand procedures and risks.
- Supervise and mentor surgical residents and fellows, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
- Manage post-operative care, including wound care, pain management, and recovery monitoring.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA and hospital regulations.
Qualification
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery.
- Current, active medical license to practice in New York State.
- Completion of a residency program in General Surgery (3-5 years minimum).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Demonstrated expertise in trauma surgery, bariatric procedures, or general laparoscopy is preferred.
