Responsibility
- Direct and supervise all phases of land surveying projects, including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, right-of-way, and construction surveys.
- Operate and oversee field crews utilizing Trimble R12i GNSS receivers, S7 Total Stations, and UAV photogrammetry equipment.
- Prepare and review complex legal descriptions, survey plats, elevation certificates, and final maps for public and private clients.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure profitable and timely project delivery.
- Conduct thorough field checks, data processing (TBC, Magnet Office), and QA/QC reviews to guarantee the highest level of accuracy.
- Collaborate with civil engineers, architects, and construction managers to provide expert surveying guidance during design and construction phases.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations, company policies, and Texas State surveying standards.
Qualification
- Licensing: Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in Texas is mandatory. RPLS preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 4+ years of progressive experience in land surveying. Supervisory or crew chief experience is highly desirable.
- Technical Mastery: Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and core survey math (coordinates, traverses, least squares adjustments).
- Knowledge: Deep familiarity with ALTA/NSPS standards, FEMA elevation certificates, and Texas Minimum Standard Detail Requirements.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities. Must be able to interface professionally with clients and regulatory bodies.
- Physical & Logistical: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, traverse rugged terrain, and lift up to 50 lbs. Valid Texas driver's license required.
- Education: B.S. in Surveying, Geomatics, or Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience) is a plus.
