In this pivotal role, you will oversee complex boundary and construction surveys, mentor junior staff, and leverage cutting-edge technology to ensure the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.
Responsibility
- Lead Field Operations: Direct and manage field crews during all phases of boundary, topographic, and construction surveys, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
- Technical Leadership: Perform complex calculations, adjust traverse data, and resolve challenging surveying issues in the field with minimal supervision.
- Technology Integration: Utilize state-of-the-art equipment, including GNSS, Total Stations, and LiDAR, to collect and process high-precision geospatial data.
- Project Management: Coordinate with civil engineers and architects to ensure survey data supports design requirements and regulatory compliance.
- Mentorship: Train and develop junior surveyors, fostering a culture of safety, precision, and continuous improvement.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed field notes, sketches, and final survey reports, including ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys as required.
Qualification
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Licensure: Current Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in California.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in land surveying, including a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Trimble Business Center.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical labor, including lifting and climbing.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of interacting with clients and stakeholders professionally.
