Responsibility
- Perform accurate clinical laboratory tests across hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and immunology departments
- Operate and calibrate complex laboratory equipment including automated analyzers and molecular testing platforms
- Adhere to strict CAP, CLIA, and OSHA protocols for specimen handling and result reporting
- Participate in quality assurance programs including proficiency testing and internal audits
- Maintain detailed electronic documentation of test procedures and quality control measures
- Assist in developing new laboratory protocols and troubleshooting technical issues
- Train junior technicians on laboratory procedures and safety protocols
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field (ASCP certification preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in high-volume clinical laboratory setting
- Proficiency in laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic health records (EHR)
- Strong knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and regulatory compliance
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining precision
- CPR certification and current immunization records
- Valid Massachusetts Laboratory License
