Responsibility
- Provide comprehensive antenatal and postnatal care to patients across diverse socioeconomic backgrounds
- Lead normal births and manage emergency situations using evidence-based protocols
- Develop personalized birth plans while educating patients on maternal health options
- Maintain accurate clinical records and comply with NMC and CQC standards
- Mentor midwifery students and support junior staff through clinical supervision
- Participate in service development initiatives to improve patient outcomes
- Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, and mental health specialists
Qualification
- Registered Midwife with NMC pin (valid for practice in the UK)
- BSc in Midwifery or equivalent internationally recognized qualification
- Minimum 3 years post-registration experience in acute maternity settings
- Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) or equivalent certification
- Demonstrated experience in managing high-risk pregnancies
- Proficiency in electronic patient record systems (e.g., Cerner, EMIS)
- Strong communication skills with cultural competency in diverse urban populations
- Up-to-date knowledge of NMC Revalidation requirements
