Responsibility
- Provide comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to low and high-risk pregnancies
- Lead emergency response situations including neonatal resuscitation and obstetric emergencies
- Conduct holistic health assessments and develop individualized care plans for mothers and newborns
- Mentor junior midwives and student midwives through clinical supervision and skills training
- Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals in multidisciplinary rounds
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with NMC standards
- Participate in service improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice implementation
Qualification
- Registered Midwife with NMC pin (RM status)
- BSc in Midwifery or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 3 years post-registration clinical experience in maternity care
- Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) or equivalent certification
- Excellent communication skills with ability to build rapport with diverse families
- Proven ability to work autonomously and make critical decisions in emergency situations
- Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice
