Responsibility

  • Provide comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to low and high-risk pregnancies
  • Lead multidisciplinary team meetings and coordinate care pathways for complex cases
  • Deliver evidence-based parent education on childbirth preparation, newborn care, and breastfeeding
  • Perform clinical assessments including vaginal exams, fetal monitoring, and neonatal resuscitation
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records and ensure compliance with NICE guidelines
  • Mentor junior midwives and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with social services and mental health professionals for holistic patient support

Qualification

  • Registered Midwife with NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) certification
  • Bachelor's degree in Midwifery or equivalent international qualification
  • Minimum 5 years clinical experience in acute maternity settings
  • Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) certification or equivalent
  • Proven expertise in managing high-risk pregnancies including pre-eclampsia and gestational diabetes
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development (CPD)
  • Exceptional communication skills with ability to support diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Experience in leading clinical audits or service improvement projects
