Responsibility
- Provide comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to low and high-risk pregnancies
- Lead multidisciplinary team meetings and coordinate care pathways for complex cases
- Deliver evidence-based parent education on childbirth preparation, newborn care, and breastfeeding
- Perform clinical assessments including vaginal exams, fetal monitoring, and neonatal resuscitation
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records and ensure compliance with NICE guidelines
- Mentor junior midwives and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with social services and mental health professionals for holistic patient support
Qualification
- Registered Midwife with NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) certification
- Bachelor's degree in Midwifery or equivalent international qualification
- Minimum 5 years clinical experience in acute maternity settings
- Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) certification or equivalent
- Proven expertise in managing high-risk pregnancies including pre-eclampsia and gestational diabetes
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development (CPD)
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to support diverse cultural backgrounds
- Experience in leading clinical audits or service improvement projects
