Responsibility
- Command and safely navigate vessels through complex international waterways and port environments
- Oversee all vessel operations including cargo handling, maintenance scheduling, and crew management
- Ensure strict compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, and international maritime regulations
- Develop voyage plans, risk assessments, and emergency response protocols
- Lead and develop diverse crews through training, performance evaluations, and safety drills
- Coordinate with port authorities, cargo agents, and shore-based operations teams
- Implement sustainable practices to reduce environmental impact and fuel consumption
- Maintain accurate voyage logs, incident reports, and compliance documentation
Qualification
- Valid Master Mariner (Captain) license from EU member state maritime authority
- Minimum 8 years seagoing experience with at least 3 years as Chief Officer or Captain
- STCW certification with valid medical fitness certificate
- Proven track record in vessel operations management and crew leadership
- Expert knowledge of maritime regulations, navigation systems, and weather forecasting
- Strong decision-making abilities in emergency situations and adverse conditions
- Fluency in English with additional language skills highly desirable
- Experience with modern vessel management systems and digital navigation tools
