Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and proactive System Administrator to join our dynamic IT team at TechVista Solutions in New York. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficiency of our IT infrastructure. You will manage servers, networks, and cloud systems, provide technical support, and implement security measures. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for optimizing system performance.
Responsibility
- Manage and maintain all aspects of the company's server infrastructure, including Windows and Linux servers.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability.
- Implement and manage network security, firewalls, and backup solutions.
- Administer cloud services (AWS/Azure) and migrate on-premises workloads as needed.
- Provide Tier 2/3 technical support to end-users and resolve complex hardware/software issues.
- Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash) to improve efficiency.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and maintain inventory of IT assets.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and maintenance.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience as a System Administrator or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
- Proficiency in Linux administration (Ubuntu, CentOS).
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and hybrid environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+, MCSE, RHCSA) are a plus.
