Responsibility
- Establish and direct a vigorous, externally funded research group in Artificial Intelligence.
- Develop and teach rigorous, engaging courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in AI, machine learning, and related areas.
- Advise and mentor Ph.D. students, postdocs, and undergraduate researchers to maximize their academic and career potential.
- Disseminate research findings through publications in top-tier venues and presentations at leading international conferences.
- Collaborate with faculty across departments to foster interdisciplinary research initiatives.
- Contribute to the effective governance and continuous improvement of the department and university through service.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within the academic community and beyond through active engagement and program building.
Qualification
- Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field by the start of the appointment.
- Outstanding research record demonstrated by significant publications, awards, or recognition in top conferences/journals (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, AAAI, IJCAI).
- Proven ability or clear potential to secure and manage external research funding.
- Commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student body.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education.
