Responsibility
- Operate and maintain commercial fishing vessels, including navigation, gear deployment, and safety protocols
- Execute sustainable harvesting techniques for salmon, albacore tuna, and Dungeness crab
- Sort, process, and preserve catches to maintain quality standards
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform preventative maintenance
- Adhere to NOAA regulations, quotas, and sustainable fishing practices
- Collaborate with deckhands to maximize efficiency and safety during operations
- Maintain accurate catch logs and vessel documentation
Qualification
- Minimum 2 years commercial fishing experience with documented sea time
- Valid USCG Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) and Washington State fishing license
- Proficiency in navigation systems (GPS, radar, sonar) and vessel operation
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in harsh marine conditions
- Strong mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting gear and equipment
- Knowledge of Pacific Northwest fishing grounds, weather patterns, and regulations
