Responsibility
- Operate and maintain fishing gear including nets, pots, and longlines
- Sort, process, and pack catches according to quality standards
- Monitor vessel systems and equipment during operations
- Adhere to all USCG safety protocols and fisheries regulations
- Collaborate with crew to maximize catch efficiency
- Perform routine vessel maintenance and deck operations
- Navigate coastal waters using electronic and traditional methods
Qualification
- Minimum 2 years commercial fishing experience in Alaska waters
- Valid USCG Merchant Mariner Document (AB or DDE preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Bering Sea weather patterns and navigation
- Ability to work 12-16 hour shifts in harsh conditions
- Certification in marine first aid and survival techniques
- Physical capacity for heavy lifting (up to 80 lbs) and repetitive tasks
- Commercial fishing license and necessary state permits
