Responsibility
- Beverage Crafting: Prepare and serve a wide variety of espresso-based drinks, pour-overs, and specialty beverages with precision and consistency.
- Quality Control: Continuously monitor shot times, milk texture, and bean freshness to ensure every cup meets our high standards.
- Customer Engagement: Provide an exceptional and personalized guest experience, educating customers on our seasonal offerings and sourcing practices.
- Inventory Management: Assist with ordering, receiving, and rotating coffee, milk, and retail products to minimize waste.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily and weekly cleaning and calibration of espresso machines, grinders, and brew equipment.
- Team Mentorship: Train and mentor new baristas on proper techniques, recipes, and company policies.
- Health & Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in compliance with health codes.
- Events & Tastings: Occasionally assist with in-house cupping sessions and community events to showcase our roasts.
Qualification
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a barista in a specialty coffee environment.
- Certification: SCA Barista Skills certification (Level 1 or higher) is preferred.
- Palate: Strong sensory evaluation skills with a passion for coffee profiling.
- Speed: Ability to work efficiently during peak hours without sacrificing quality.
- Availability: Flexible schedule including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and a warm, welcoming demeanor.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Physical: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
