Responsibility

  • Assume total command and accountability for the safety and performance of a highly sophisticated container vessel.
  • Execute flawless navigational strategies, optimizing routes for efficiency and safety while adhering to strict environmental standards.
  • Mentor and develop a diverse, international crew, promoting a proactive safety culture and continuous professional development.
  • Serve as the primary representative for the company, maintaining seamless liaison with port state control, charterers, and classification societies.
  • Drive operational excellence by overseeing dry-dockings, audits, and emergency response planning.
  • Manage vessel budgets, procurement, and inventory control to maximize cost-efficiency.
  • Ensure full compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, COLREGs, ISM, and ISPS codes at all times.

Qualification

  • Valid STCW II/2 Certificate of Competency (Master Mariner Unlimited) with strong port state control record.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of progressive sea service, with at least 4-5 years as Master on container vessels exceeding 10,000 TEU.
  • Proven crisis management and incident investigation skills.
  • BSc in Nautical Science or equivalent; MSc/MBA in Maritime Management highly desirable.
  • Deep expertise in ISM, ISPS, MLC, COLREGs, SOLAS, and MARPOL conventions.
  • Excellent command of English; fluency in Mandarin or Korean is a strong advantage.
  • Proficiency in modern navigation systems, electronic chart platforms, and fleet management software.
  • Unwavering attention to detail, integrity, and decision-making under pressure.
