Responsibility
- Lead complex investigative projects with national significance, from data analysis to field reporting
- Develop and maintain trusted sources across government, industry, and community sectors
- Produce compelling multimedia content (print, video, podcasts) for digital and broadcast platforms
- Mentor junior journalists through story development and ethical journalism practices
- Collaborate with editors to pitch, develop, and execute long-form investigative series
- Adhere to strict journalistic ethics while meeting aggressive deadlines
- Represent the organization at industry events and public forums
Qualification
- Minimum 5 years of professional journalism experience with proven investigative reporting portfolio
- Demonstrated expertise in public records access, FOIA requests, and data journalism techniques
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities across multiple formats
- Strong understanding of media law, ethics, and journalistic standards
- Experience managing complex projects and meeting editorial deadlines
- Proficiency in digital content management systems and multimedia production tools
- Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field required
