As a Senior Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing complex projects from conception through completion, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations. Responsibility

  • Plan, organize, and direct survey field crews and office personnel to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Perform complex calculations and analyze survey data to establish precise boundaries, easements, and topographic features.
  • Prepare and review legal descriptions, plats, ALTA surveys, and control networks for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors (TBPELS) rules, standards, and ethics.
  • Utilize advanced surveying equipment (Trimble GNSS, Robotic Total Stations, UAVs/LiDAR) and software (MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, attorneys, and government agencies regarding project scope and technical specifications.
  • Mentor and train junior surveyors and field technicians to foster professional growth and technical excellence.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to deliver projects on time and within scope.

Qualification

  • Licensure: Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in the State of Texas is required. RPLS preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in land surveying, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or project management role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Trimble Business Center. Experience with UAV data processing is a major plus.
  • Knowledge: Expert knowledge of ALTA/NSPS standards, BLM surveying procedures, and Texas state surveying laws.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field preferred (but not required in lieu of extensive experience).
  • Driving Record: Valid driver's license with a clean MVR is required to travel to project sites.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities. Exceptional attention to detail and mathematical accuracy.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to navigate rough terrain and work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods.
