Apex Geomatics Solutions is seeking a dedicated Senior Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) to join our dynamic Houston office. You will manage complex boundary, topographic, and ALTA/NSPS surveys while leveraging the latest UAV, 3D scanning, and GNSS technology. As a key leader, you will ensure the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and safety on a diverse portfolio of commercial, residential, and energy projects throughout Texas.
Responsibility
- Direct and supervise field crews performing boundary, topographic, construction staking, and ALTA/NSPS land title surveys.
- Review and analyze field data, deeds, easements, and other records to resolve boundary evidence and establish legal corners.
- Prepare and meticulously check legal descriptions, right-of-way plats, and final surveys for client delivery and public record.
- Operate and manage advanced surveying equipment such as robotic total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, 3D scanners, and drones (UAV).
- Process survey data using industry-leading software (Civil 3D, Carlson, MicroStation).
- Mentor and train staff surveyors and field technicians, fostering a culture of excellence and safety.
- Communicate directly with clients, project managers, and agency representatives to ensure project success and adherence to deadlines.
- Uphold strict quality control standards and company safety protocols in all field and office operations.
Qualification
- Valid Texas RPLS License in good standing (mandatory).
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 5+ years of progressive land surveying experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Deep expertise in ALTA/NSPS (Minimum Standard Detail Requirements for ALTA Land Title Surveys).
- Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and survey data processing software.
- Proven ability to interpret and apply legal principles of boundary law and property descriptions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Valid US Driver's License and ability to travel to job sites within the Houston metropolitan area and surrounding regions.
