Responsibility
- Pitch, report, and write daily news articles and premium long-form features.
- Conduct in-depth interviews with key figures, whistleblowers, and industry experts to break exclusive stories.
- Adhere to the highest standards of accuracy, fairness, and journalistic ethics while verifying facts and sources.
- Collaborate with the multimedia team to produce compelling video, audio, and interactive content.
- Monitor breaking news and real-time data to provide timely and context-rich coverage.
- Utilize SEO best practices and audience insights to maximize the reach and impact of your content.
- Mentor junior reporters and contribute to the editorial planning process.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional reporting experience in a digital or print newsroom.
- Exceptional command of the English language, AP style, and narrative structure.
- Proven track record of breaking news and developing high-level sources.
- Proficiency with content management systems (WordPress, Arc Publishing) and social media platforms.
- Experience with data journalism and FOIA requests is highly preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends as news dictates.
- A strong portfolio showcasing a range of work, from breaking news to investigative features.
