Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Ship Captain (Master Mariner) to lead our vessel operations globally. As the Captain, you will be responsible for the safe navigation, operation, and management of the ship and crew. Responsibility
- Oversee the safe navigation and operation of the vessel in compliance with international maritime regulations.
- Lead and manage the ship's crew, fostering a culture of teamwork, safety, and professionalism.
- Ensure cargo operations are conducted efficiently and safely, coordinating with port authorities and agents.
- Maintain ship's documents, records, and certifications in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor weather conditions and adjust routes to ensure optimal safety and fuel efficiency.
- Conduct regular drills and training sessions for the crew to ensure preparedness for emergencies.
- Manage budgetary aspects of vessel operations, including fuel, provisions, and maintenance costs.
- Report regularly to the fleet management team on vessel status, incidents, and operational performance.
Qualification
- Valid Master Mariner (Unlimited) License issued by a recognized maritime authority.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Master on ocean-going vessels, preferably with container or bulk carrier experience.
- In-depth knowledge of international maritime regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW).
- Proven leadership and crew management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in maritime software and navigation systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies or related field preferred.
